ABOUT OUR RICHMOND SHOWROOM

Our international headquarters, showroom, and workshop are located in Richmond, Virginia. We are proud to work in the urban heart of the City of Richmond, close to our roots in historic Scott’s Addition. The office headquarters and showroom occupy 5,000 square feet of the 65,000 square foot building. The remaining 60,000 square feet are utilized by the workshop where our heirloom outdoor furniture is handcrafted from aluminum by skilled artisans.

Two dramatic skylights flood the showroom with natural light, evoking the sense of a garden room and creating a serene and meditative space further highlighting the sophisticated exterior furniture collections. Two striking olive trees stand to the right upon entering the front door. Known for their longevity and symbolism, the classical and ancient Greek trees are seen throughout McKinnon and Harris flagship showrooms. The first floor’s striking French limestone is Massangis Jaune Clair, from a quarry in Yvonne, an area of France about 20 kilometers from the famed Chablis region. Each honed limestone paver contains a significant number of sea animal fossils from the Middle Jurassic period which imparts distinct character and subtle color variation. The rift-sawn white oak flooring of the upstairs mezzanine has a cerused finish, making a dramatic statement of texture. Its oak grain was raised with a lye treatment and further accentuated with an application of Woca white oil.

Both passionate antiquarians, our founders Anne and Will and have collected Renaissance and Roman era stone antiquities seen throughout the offices and showroom, reflecting the company’s timeless design aesthetic. The entrance into the workshop features a Sir John Soane inspired wall-mounted array of architectural fragments speaking to the siblings’ obsession with permanence and enduring craftsmanship.

Please come and visit us for a tour of our workshop to experience our craftsmanship firsthand. We would love to have you.
